Obituary - DuRoss

Barbara J. DuRoss (nee Daddino), 68, of Delran, NJ passed away suddenly on August 10, 2020 after a brief illness. Beloved wife of John DuRoss for nearly 46 years. Dear mother to Angela Winterrowd (Michael) of Cinnaminson, NJ and Nicki McDonnell (Sean) of Mount Laurel, NJ. Devoted grandmother to Julianna, Norah, Vivienne, Sean and a new grandson on the way. Loving sister to the late Febby M. Daddino and the late Richard Daddino (Gloria). Daughter of the late Febby G. and Edith Daddino (nee Prisco). Barbara will be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Barbara grew up in Riverside, NJ, graduating from Riverside High School in 1969; during her time as a student she played basketball and was a cheerleader. A proud alumna of Trenton State College (now TCNJ), class of 1973, Barbara became a teacher of business, computers and typing. She retired after a 35 year career in the Delran Township School District (25 years at DHS and 10 years at DMS.) She was a devoted member of the Church of the Holy Name, Resurrection Parish. Barbara loved animals (especially dogs), puzzles, movies, science fiction, and music from the 50s and 60s (especially Dean Martin). She enjoyed hosting family gatherings (often featuring her homemade meatballs) and family trips to the Jersey shore. It brought her incredible joy to spend time with her daughters and grandchildren. Above all else, her family was most important to her.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Monday, August 17th at Givnish of Cinnaminson from 8:00am to 10:30am. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Holy Name, Resurrection Parish, 260 Conrow Road, Delran, NJ 08075 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Masks and social distancing are required. There will be an opportunity to live stream the service at Resurrection Parish by visiting resurrection2.org/media. Ronald Reagan's Pre-Presidential 1976-1979 Biweekly Newspaper Column For King Features Syndicate - Can You Dig It?

5/5/1976-Lincoln, Nebraska: Ronald Reagan is all smiles as he reads details of his sweep of Presidential Primaries in Indiana, Alabama and Georgia. Reagan spoke here to target delegates in preparation for Nebraska primary.

Joyce Comments: In the California Digital Newspaper Collection's Santa Cruz Sentinel newspaper archive, I was fortunate to have found and snipped about two-thirds of the articles in Ronald Reagan's pre-presidential biweekly King Features Syndicate column. Of the estimated 300+ articles in the column that ran from late 1976 to late 1979 -- 216 published by the Sentinel were retrieved and uploaded here for historical posterity.

Dozens more Ronald Reagan articles snipped!
